Marie Stopes Clinic

History of Marie Stopes Bangladesh MS was established in 1988 in Chittagong by Marie Stopes International (MSI) following a survey which highlighted the need for a high quality family planning service in the region. The journey started with a modest clinic financed by the UK’s then Overseas Development Administration (now known as DFID, UKAid) Joint Funding Scheme. This clinic soon became very successful due to its client focus, high quality services and innovative marketing. Within three years, approximately 500 clients were being seen each month, and the clinic was well on the way to financial sustainability.
