The Daily Ittefaq is Bangladesh’s iconic & oldest national Bengali newspaper. The Daily Ittefaq was founded in 1953, and played a vital role in the independence movement of Bangladesh serving as the mouthpiece of the people striving for autonomy from then West Pakistan. Its founder, Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia was the editor of the paper at the time. Today his daughter-in-law & wife of Minister of Environment and Forests (MoEF) Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Anwar Hossain Manju Tasmima Hossain serves as the acting editor of both the Daily Ittefaq and its online English version,
